Symphony of a Thousand
Symphony of a Thousand
The 8th symphony (1906) of Gustav Mahler is one of the greatest masterpieces of the history of the classical music and one of the greatest creations of man. The charm, mystery, difficulty and excellence of the 8th symphony are primarily due to the great number of performers required: eight soloists, a huge mixed choir, a children choir and an extensive symphonic orchestra. In November 17, 2008 the „Symphony of a Thousand” by Gustav Mahler will be performed in „Arēna Rīga”, conducted by Imants Resnis.
